A Call To Arms ~ Part One

Why do children have to grow up so fast? And how do little first and second graders know more than I knew as a freshman going into high school in 1972? I think teens in junior high and high school know more than I know now. It is heart breaking and outraging all at the same time. My heart is troubled for children and youth in this world.

It simply mortifies me what many of these kids know ~ what they have already been exposed to at such an early age through filthy TV shows and movies ~ terminology they are familiar with from music they should not be listening to (words that would make an adult blush) ~ communication they engage in on the internet. What in the world has happened?

Do you know where your children are right now? Do you know what they are watching on TV? Do you know what lyrics they are listening to on their Ipods and MP3 players? Do you know what sites they are visiting on the internet? Do you know what photos they have downloaded to their cell phones? Do you know who their friends are at school? Your children are the greatest treasures that you have. Do well by them. Guide them, protect them, guard them ~ please.

This land we live in needs a revival. It needs a healing. In II Chronicles 7:14 God says If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. May we humble ourselves, be in great pray for our homes and our schools, turn from anything wicked, and ask God to forgive us our sins AND THEN HE WILL HEAL OUR LAND (and that includes our children).

When was the last time we spring cleaned the literature, and books, and movies, and music in our homes? Remove that which is ungodly. And do it for the sake of your children and teens. And do it for you! Lord Bless You.

Great Questions and I hope and pray it touches hearts! WE are still in an inocent stage with our boys, Praise the Lord. But pray for us as we enter the pre young adult hood. I refuse to use the word teenager.

Amen!
My son is taking a stand at the middle school he attends. God has put together a group of his friends from our church and these kids stand together for Jesus. I know it is tough on them; but they are together and making a strong statement for young christians everywhere. I am so thankful to God for protecting "our" children. God knows how they need Him.
God bless you. I am still praying all is well with you.
Your sister in Christ,
Bren

Amen! I too am appalled at what kids are exposed to these days. Being a foster parent means we see some of the most damaged children, but even those in 'normal' families are seeing, hearing, and doing things that no child should be...or adult in most cases.
In answer to one question...my kids are watching a dvd with their dad... 'Get Smart, Again,' an old Get Smart movie.

"If my people..." is an awesome quote. So then it starts with us - the Body of Christ, His followers. We can't have any expectations of those who are not yet HIS. Oh, may the Lord help each one of us to do what He requires is my prayer - for me first.

So sad, but so true. This past week I posted about Purity. I didn't finish saying some key, crucial things that need to be said about purity and our children, so I will be continue the theme this week as well.
One of the statistics I found said that 7 is the new 21. Can you believe that?! I'm so thankful my 2 daughters are raising their children to be different, to be set apart from the world.

Have a blessed Lord's Day.

Amen. Thank you for the great posts. It is so sad but so true. We must keep our eyes from ungodly things. I once heard Television is satan's way of keeping Christian's from praying. The more distrubing the movies/tv get, the worse America gets. Some people think I am weird but I won't watch most movies out there anymore. I do however want to see Fireproof.

I really love that passage...great passage... How I pray this nation will repent and that he will heal our land.
