I’ve wondered before why Spring is my most favorite of seasons over the warm and sunny weather of summer or the beautiful array of colors in the fall. Spring represents new beginnings to me. In April of 1971 I walked the aisle in a little Baptist church to take Christ as my Savior. I was only 12 years old. There was a Spring revival at our church ~ and at the time of the invitation my momma walked up into the church choir loft where I was sitting ~ she whispered into my ear with tears in her throat ~ "Cathy, if you died tonight do you know that you would go to Heaven?" I immediately began to cry ~ knowing I was bound for a devil’s hell ~ I came down from the choir loft and knelt at the altar begging God to forgive me of my sins and to save my soul. It was ~ hands down ~ the most wonderful life-changing experience ever.
Spring represents "new beginnings" in so many ways ~ for the land which has been laying dormant all winter ~ for the wildlife as they began their new families ~ and the most important new beginning of all ~ my second birth into the family of God. Spring has definitely sprung - isn’t it wonderful!
12 Thoughts On The Matter:
I love Spring and Fall about equally.
Your new birth sounds similar to mine. Our little Baptist church had a revival and I was 9. I didn't go to the altar, but was very quiet on the way home and my mom noticed. When we got home, she asked me had I wanted to go to the altar and I started crying and said yes. We knelt by her bed and prayed together. I was so full of joy that she couldn't keep me in bed. I kept getting up and asking questions about God. :)
I loved the years I was blessed to see a KY spring! Incredible! Eternal spring is in my heart too because of Christ's sacrifice on my behalf. I was 10 and at camp when the Lord impressed upon my heart that I needed to be saved. The sweet lady who led me to learn more about His saving grace is already with HIM. God is so good!
Beautiful post. I was 8 when I accepted Jesus into my heart. It happened in Bible School. I will never forget it.
Hi Cathryn,
Great testimony! Do you mind if I share your experience with others?
Hey. If you get the opportunity, would you
mind praying for the prayer requests that are
on our main page?
May the Lord bless you and your family!!

Spring is my favorite season too! I love when the light shades of green as the trees start to come out in leaf! But looking out my window, the scene is a little different than yours....although the ground is beginning to show through in places, there are still lots of snowbanks and ice!
Thank you for reminding me of the new birth...I can't believe I missed my 'second' birthday this year...It was just the other day...March 18th,(1985) and I was so busy getting ready for Master Clubs I guess it just passed me by!
Beautiful post, Cathryn! Thanks for sharing!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Susan
Spring is my most favorite season too, Cathryn. I just love all the little flowers coming up and everything so new and beautiful in God's creation.
I love Spring too! But Fall is so special too! Oh my goodness I can't decide. I love them all!
God bless you,
Bren
I enjoyed reading your post about your salvation! How great that your new birth was at the yearly time of new birth! Each new budding flower is a reminder to you! I was saved the week of Thanksgiving. Every thanksgiving is extra special to me! I am so thankful that God saved me!
I love the spring as well... so beautiful! I am so thankful you trusted the Lord that spring day!
I love spring too :) Not too hot, not too cold, beautiful colors and flowers, just perfect ! :)
I am partial to Spring and Autumn in equal measure, I think :o)
How wonderful to remember the day you were saved by God's marvellous grace!
For me, it was in the merry month of May 1977 and after much soul searching and reading God's Word and learning of my sinful condition, I trusted Christ as my Saviour in the dining room of my childhood home while reading John 3:16.
I didn't fully understand all that the Lord had brought me into at that moment, but I knew He had washed my sins away and that when I died, I would be at home with the Lord in Heaven *by grace alone* ~ Praise His Name!
Blessings to you and your family Cathryn!
