All On The Altar Update

As I shared in my last post, I laid down some "much needed things" in my life. It was tearfully painful but I am so thankful that I did it. We were not built ~ created ~ equipped ~ to handle the burdens that only our Lord can carry. And THANK GOD that He can and does carry them. My spirit is restored, my resolve has returned, and my determination to stay out of the driver’s seat is renewed.

Satan ~ the destroyer ~ has already made his move to bring me down again ~ I would have been foolish to think that he wouldn’t bother me. He did and he will continue. He comes in the form of worries and doubts and most of all discouragement. I know he will be back and I’m thinking that understanding that ~ knowing full and well that he will be back ~ is probably more than half the battle. And keeping my guard up, staying prayed up, continuing to read and meditate on God’s love letter to me, wearing the full armour, leaning and leaning again on the Great Jehovah ~ that is the other half.

Blessings to you all ~ Cathryn

It is a fearful thing how easily worries, doubts, and discouragement will come upon a child of God! I know in my own life how they flood in before I know what's happening! But what a comfort to know that God is not surprised or taken unawares and that He is always with us to help us! He said He would "never leave us or forsake us" and He always keeps His word! Praise the Lord!

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. Any time you want to share any words of wisdom in raising 3 godly girls let me know :) We will "talk" soon.

That's the struggle we face on a daily basis. You summed it up so well. (Both the problem, and the solution!)
May God continue to give you strength to (as the song says...) "Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there".
Blessings,
Susan

That is half the battle... knowing that we as Christians are in a battle with Satan and his demoms. You know that I am praying for you and your dear family.

How hard it is to relenquish control of the situation! I am one of those "control freak" people. I think my need for control is what has hindered my Christian life the most. Thanks for the reminder that I need to get my hiney over into the passenger seat!
God's Blessings!

It sounds to me like you would enjoy the book study I am doing. Even if you don't get the book you would get most of what is said in it from the posts. I have a logo on my sidebar that you can click on to see what people have written about it. It's about the things we say in our thoughts to ourselves. It's amazing how many of us are hard on ourselves, and don't tell ourselves the truth of God's Word.
